PICANTE FLEET FISHING REPORT

May was good for Marlin fishing but the Yellowfin tuna frenzies reports were one of the highlights this month. The tuna weight was between the 15 to 20 pounds, big enough for a delicious family meal. The Striped Marlin were around 120 to 160 pounds, during may the hot fishing was at the Cortez side.As we get closer to Summer, Dorado, Wahoo, Yellowfin tuna will be very popular and maybe we’ll start to see Blue and Black marlin in the spread.The best bait/lure was Caballito, Live mackerel and hoochis.Some of the best fishing spots this month were: Herradura and Cabeza de Ballena, Cortez side.

31’ CABO Express Picante Expresso released 10 Striped marlin weighing around 100-120 lb, they also boated 10 nice Yellowfin tuna, 2 Dorado and 1 Roosterfish.Albermarle 31’ Ram Rod released 2 Striped Marlin a landed 12 yellowfin tuna more for the count.Tuna month for the 32’ Cabo Express, Picante Express, they landed around 41 Yellowfin tuna, released 9 Striped marlin, and boated 2 dorado for dinner!

Picante Dream our 35’ Cabo Flybridge, released 11 striped Marlin, landed 25 tuna more for the count and 1 Dorado, the most of the cactch was at the Cortez side: 95 spot, Palmilla, Santa María and 11:50.Salsa, the Cabo Express 35’ had 5 Striped Marlin released for the archive plus 14 good eating Yellowfin tunas and 1 Dorado for the count.The inshore fishing was full of Sierra Mackerel, the little ones have a lot of fun fishing for them!

Picante Pride Cabo Express 36 ft released 7 Striped marlin and landed 10 Yellowfin tuna, 1 Roosterfish and 4 Dorado.The 45’ Cabo Express yacht, Picante 45 released 9 Striped Marlin, landed 23 yellowfin tuna, plus 2 dorado for the plate.Caliente 45, Cabo Express 45’ released 7 Striped marlin for the archive, boated 19 yellowfin tuna and 1 dorado for mahi tacos!
