APRIL 2021 FISHING REPORT

Fish Available: Striped Marlin, Dorado, Sierra mackerel, Roosterfish, Bonita, Barrilete.
April was full of Striped marlin and also unexpected winds that made fishing on the Pacific side a bit hard but exciting, you never know what surprises the ocean will bring. The good news is that the Sea of Cortez surprised us with a very good production of stripes, very close to the coast.
The best bait/lure was Caballito and Live mackerel.
Some of the best fishing spots this month were: Santa Maria and 11:50, Cortez side.
April inshore fishing produce sierras, cabrilla, grouper and Roosterfish.
31’ CABO Express Picante Expresso had a successful month with 23 Striped marlin released weighing around 100-140 lb, they also boated 2 nice Bonita and 2 dorado.
If you love dorado aka mahi-mahi or dolphin fish, they are beginning to show up and our anglers are enjoying these great fighting and delicious fish. What better way to release a few stripes and still catch something for dinner!
Ram Rod, Albermarle 31’ released 3 Striped marlin and lots of bonitas for the count by Chileno.
The 32’ Cabo Express “Picante Express”, released 10 Striped marlin and some bonitas for sashimi.
This month started slow for the fishing, but as the month passed the fishing improved and the boats returned with at least two release flags, our clients in search of Marlin were very happy.
Salsa, the Cabo Express 35’ had an excellent and productive month with an exciting triple hook up. 16 Marlin released for the archive plus 2 bonitas and 1 dorado for the count.
The 35’ Cabo Flybridge, Picante Dream released 13 striped Marlin and landed 2 bonita by Santa María and Cerro Colorado.
Picante Pride our nice and comfortable Cabo Express 36 ft released 11 Striped marlin and landed one bonita.
The Picante 40’ Tollycraft released 7 Striped marlin more for the archive.
The 45’ Cabo Express yacht, Picante 45 released 12 Striped Marlin, landed 4 bonita, plus 1 dorado.
